Thomas McCaffrey

Thomas McCaffrey plays a key role in helping clients grow and preserve their wealth through thoughtful, disciplined investment strategy. As a Portfolio Manager at Gilbert & Cook, he works closely with the firm’s investment and advisory teams to design, implement and monitor portfolios aligned with each client’s financial goals and long-term plan.

Thomas brings a balanced perspective that combines deep investment expertise with a comprehensive understanding of financial planning. Holding both the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) designations, he is uniquely equipped to evaluate investment opportunities within the broader context of each client’s overall financial picture — ensuring that portfolio decisions support both short-term needs and long-term objectives.

He is passionate about building lasting relationships and values the trust clients place in him to help guide important financial decisions. Thomas approaches his work with discipline, attention to detail and a commitment to delivering clear, thoughtful recommendations — helping clients feel confident in their investment strategy, even in changing market environments.

A lifelong Hawkeye fan, Thomas enjoys cheering on the University of Iowa and staying connected to his roots. He and his wife, Taylor, live in Ankeny with their two daughters, where they enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling and staying active in the community.
