In her role in Human Resources & Business Support, she partners closely with firm leadership to develop and implement strategies that attract, develop and retain top talent — ensuring the team is equipped to deliver exceptional service to clients.

Debbie is passionate about building strong professional relationships and creating an environment where individuals and teams can thrive. Her work includes developing and administering HR programs, aligning performance management with the firm’s strategic goals and fostering growth opportunities that support both personal and professional development. She believes that when a team is supported, engaged and aligned, it directly enhances the experience and outcomes for clients.

Since joining Gilbert & Cook in 2022, Debbie has brought a thoughtful, people-first approach to her role. Her background in retail management provided a strong foundation in leadership, communication and team development — skills she continues to apply in building a collaborative and high-performing culture.

A lifelong Iowa native, Debbie lives in Des Moines with her family. She enjoys traveling internationally, exploring the local community — especially the downtown farmers market — staying active outdoors and spending time with friends and family.
