As a Financial Advisor with a rich history in wealth management, accounting and education, Shea brings a well-rounded approach to finding the right solutions to fit our clients needs.
Shea earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Northern Iowa and a Masters in Business Administration with accounting emphasis from Drake University. Additionally, Shea is both a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) .*
Since the fall of 2001, Shea has taught in some capacity at both the Des Moines Area Community College and Simpson College. He has also run a small tax practice and, later, merged that practice with a large CPA firm. By working closely with small businesses and their owners, he became very skilled at listening to his clients and helping them achieve their goals through tax planning and tax mitigation. Utilizing his experience and talents as a former tax professional, Shea looks forward to creating financial planning and tax mitigation strategies for our clients.
Shea and his wife Sue life in Urbandale with their two sons, Jack and Alex. Together they enjoy going to soccer games and tournaments. "When not at work or hanging with the fam, I love to smoke meat (I may be a certified KCBS judge), work on the house (mostly break stuff and then try to fix it) and periodically attempt to find the perfect round of golf. I haven't found it yet, but that doesn't stop me from trying."
