Partner & Chief Planning Strategist
A Financial Planner since 1983, Marlis joined Linda Lundstrom Cook in 2000. As Chief Planning Strategist, her role is to help the team guide clients through their lives in transition with sophisticated planning strategies.
Marlis received her Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®) designation from the College for Financial Planning in 1985 and
completed a Master of Science degree in 1995, with an emphasis in Estate Planning. To provide focused knowledge, she received
her Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® (CDFA®) designation in 2003 and Accredited Domestic Partnership Advisor™
(ADPA®) designation in 2013.*
She is a graduate of the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute and a Past President of both the Financial Planning Association
of Iowa and the Mid-Iowa Estate and Financial Planners. In 2011, Marlis was honored as being one of the Top 50 Independent Broker/Dealer Women Advisers.
A lifelong resident of Ankeny, Marlis and her husband, Gale are active in their church and community. Together they enjoy
bicycling, boating and gardening. They have two sons, Gabriel (wife Marcia) and Nathaniel, and twin granddaughters, Lillian and Penelope.
